Summer Reads…

Summer Reads…

I find myself lately craving for some adventures thru books. I miss the days when I get lost in my own thoughts reading a good book. Guilty as it is I stopped reading when Netflix has become the major norm. It was easy and I didn’t need to think twice. All in all, I stopped training my brain. So a few days ago, I received my Kindle Paper white from and it got me excited all over again to start reading. I love a murder mystery, chick-lit, romance, fiction and anything that revolves around fashion.

I spent the last two days finishing a book, to get started again was hard. I doze off a few times during the first 3 chapter of the book. It got better after and the next day I was back on track just the way I was when reading back in my golden days. I find it reading on summer outside enjoying the weather helps too! feel that breeze of cold air against the sun’s heat, and you hear the trees swaying with the wind and the bird’s chirpings.

Here are some of the books that interest me this summer. I already finished a few and some are still waiting to be read on my Kindle and or in print.

Magpie Murders  The moment I started reading this book I knew I won’t be able to put it down. I finished it in two days time. I love the murder within murder. I’m also a big fan of British whodunnit (Check out father brown on Netflix you’ll enjoy it!)

Into the Water – After the success of the of  The Girl on the Train. I was expecting more for this book. The reviews I’ve read are not the greatest but let’s see this is my to read this weekend.

Rich People Problems – I’ve read the first book of this series and about to read the second book: “China Rich Girlfriend“. I love the humour in this book and well the glamorous and luxurious lifestyle got me intrigued.

The Beach at Painter’s Cove – It showcases a heartwarming story of four generations of women in the family who reunite in their crumbling family mansion by the sea for a dramatic summer filled with love, family, secrets and sisterhood.

Sweetbitter – This one’s already waiting for me to be devoured. Talk about restaurants in NYC, all the glam and the world of culinary. In Sweetbitter Stephanie Danler deftly conjures the nonstop and high-adrenaline world of the food industry and evokes the infinite possibilities, the unbearable beauty, and the fragility and brutality of being young and adrift – Amazon

So far these are the books that I have already purchased and about to read.

How about you? Any book recommendations or book you love? Any would be highly appreciated.

You just gave me the most precious recommendations since we have the same tastes in reading. I love mistery novels, family stories, and everything revolving around fashion. Right now I would recommend “Underemploeyed is the new organic” by Linda Ferro. You can check her writing style on the eponymous blog. Bu the book is even better. When you are deep into reading routine again, you must read Shantaram. I can ‘t sum it up in few words but it’s really worth reading. Love, Valeria

Murder mysteries and thrillers are actually 2 of my favorite genres to read! The Kindle Paperwhite has been on my wishlist for some time; maybe someone will get it for me this year! Have you ever read Mary Higgins Clark novels? Some of the best novels out there honestly!

Thanks for this list of summer reads! I’ve been really bad at keeping up with my reading! I’ll usually start a book and then end up not reading it at all for one reason or another. It’s terrible but I’m determined to get back in the swing of things! Will have to check out these books on Amazon.

I really need to get into reading more again as I love it, but never have the time to. Out of your picks I’d definitely go for ‘Rich People Problems’ as that sounds both funny and interesting. Thanks for giving tips for lazy days in the sun (which are to come, even for me).

Dar I totally agree with you on the reading thing! I used to read all the time but I find that lately I have ended up watching Netflix instead when I have down time (which is rare) because I just want my brain shut off. I have been trying to make an effort to get back into reading because it truly is a pleasure to get lost in a good book! I’ve been wanting to read the Crazy Rich Asians and I have heard great things about Sweet Bitter. If you’re looking for an easy read that’s amazing I suggest “Me Before You” but have a box of tissues handy!
