Thompson Hotel Toronto is one of the most sought after boutique hotel in town. Probably the place to be seen at when in Toronto. Definitely, a destination for summer, for its stunning panoramic 360 views of the Toronto Skyline. They say you’re not a Torontonian if you haven’t been here and taken a photo from the rooftop lounge.Consistently a TIFF hotspot with A-listers including Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, George Clooney and Bill Murray. The hotel is situated in the heart of King Street West neighbourhood. King West is a place to see and be the scene for Toronto’s most notably eclectic art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and nightlife, all within walking distance. Where Old school meets art school throughout King West Village’s historic factory buildings, which are now the epicentre of Toronto’s nightlife and home to the creative forces behind the city’s leading art galleries, ad agencies and tech startups.
I was fortunate to get invited for a staycation together with other influencers for a night to remember. They gave us lessons in making their famous drinks. Probably the best Margarita in town! ( I’m saying this because they’ve given me the secret recipe, which I’m sharing with you all btw in the coming weeks!) They also gave us the opportunity to try out their most expensive cocktails in their menu, thought us how to make our own sushi. Yum! My favourite part of the stay as well is the Thompson Diner being our source for room service. Who doesn’t love Diner food?
We arrived around 2 pm for our check-in, It was such a great day and very sunny!
A prominent piece of art found in the lobby ( you can see above) features a hand-painted, three-dimensional mural of Toronto’s skyline – measuring 125 by 12 feet, but Spanish artist Javier Mariscal.
Afterwards, we were escorted to our room which was situated on the 5th-floor, our door adjacent to the elevator. The room smells terrific, they also left us Saje’s Pocket Pharmacy Which I loved so much!
Designed by Studio Gaia, the hotel features 105 ultra-sleek guestrooms with dark hardwood flooring, contrasting accents in lush orange and cool white, and trademark floor to ceiling windows.
The washroom is all decked out with marble flooring and wall.
I instantly felt right at home and set up my essentials already. You also know by now how I love hotels that have floor heated bathroom tiles! and Thomspon has this too.
The party was not to start until 6 pm so we ordered a room service as we were famished!
We ordered 2 bubblies to start the party in our room, a bowl of fruit salad and chicken burger and fries to share! You gotta try this next time you’re in the Thompson.
The room service arrived ASAP, because of this we truly enjoyed the crispy fried chicken in our burger.
After our meal, we started dressing up to explore the Hotel and the first place we went to is the rooftop! the pool, unfortunately, wasn’t open yet. But I’m excited to go back this Summer to enjoy it.
Afterwards, we headed to the lobby lounge to start the event.
I spy cheese upon arriving, I couldn’t resist but to have a few bites of the blue cheese (not a smart move if you’re in a social place. lol)
Okay now back to the Margarita Class. There’s something about tequila that keeps making people giggle.
The sugar rush from agave helps too.
Everyone was so into it…
This was our finished product, It was so good that I’m actually craving it right now as I typed this blog post.
Eventually, they ushered us to the Bar to taste test the most expensive cocktails on the menu, The margarita that was priced at $100CAD together with Hennessy XO and Dom Perignon combo which was over $100 CAD.
By the time we received the XO & Dom Perignon we were all buzz already! Such a great party hosts. Thompson Hotel truly knows how to give their guest the best time of their life, truly just the best of the best to offer.
We ended the tasting cocktail menu with a $1000 CAD + plus bottle of Red.
Totally a bucket list checked here!
As soon as the sun set, we headed to the Rooftop Lounge for the food menu tasting.
My favourite was the Fried Chicken and waffle!
The ever great Executive chef made his rounds to teach us how to make sushi. Never thought how easy and fun it will be! surely a must on my next party at home with friends.
After the amazing event, half drunk but happy drunk! my jaw started to hurt from all the laughing and food. We headed outside to get some air and well to admire the panoramic view of the 6.
you could tell how happy we were. After this photo was taken, we headed down the Wildflower using our VIP wristband that was given to us, we were able to skip the long queue. It was a Saturday night and Thompson was it’s busiest being the place to be at for dancing and lounging. We danced the night away till our feet got tired and it was time to sleep. I couldn’t be happier knowing that our room is just above us and the most comfortable bed is waiting for me.
I slept thru the night without waking up till the morning, I woke up excitedly for breakfast in bed. Surprisingly I woke up with no hangover from last night.
We ordered a bunch of food and mimosas in bed.
3 sunnyside up eggs and sausage.
Chocolate chip pancake and banana
Fresh fruit bowl
Such a great way to start a Sunday!
