I am not a fan of last minute booking, I like everything all planned out ahead of time so I can plan my shots and the locations I would want to visit. My other half likes to do last minute bookings, 4 days before Christmas we spent the whole day checking out travel agencies and websites to look for a good deal. I was surprised how much the prices have gone up for the holidays! I love Cuba but the prices were incredibly high, I am suspecting because of Americans being able to visit now.
We spent more than 12 hours looking for an All inclusive resort, I found one that’s a really great deal, just as soon as I was booking it, it disappeared! Someone took the flight and I couldn’t go anymore. It wasn’t the great deal but the best resort I have ever seen, a spa getaway on top of the mountains where they will especially drive you down to the beach, ( CLICK HERE to see) Maybe another reason to go back? Yes Please! I have to settle for the best deal instead (In terms of the pricing).
We left Toronto on December 22nd late afternoon, the flight was 5 hours and 30 minutes drive to our Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, We booked an All inclusive plan as we planned to be more outside during our trip to make time for the Tours. (Not my choice, as not a big fan of tours too! but I’m not complaining, I’ll just tell you more all about it tomorrow)
We arrived late at night at our Hotel when Villa Del Palmar Flamingos gave us a Penthouse unit for two days. We got settled around 8 pm then we headed out for some tacos and of course some tequila (describing this makes me so hungry right now). And here it is at 7:15 am…
It was also the perfect time to enjoy the peacefulness and calmness of the beach before everyone wakes up. It’s so rewarding to see the gorgeous pink sky welcoming us in Puerto Vallarta.
The first day is always about discovering your temporary home, so we ventured out to find some tours to do for the next few days.
I couldn’t help but get distracted by this beautiful bougainvilias everywhere we go.
This is the Penthouse that was given to us. It consists of two bedrooms, 1 bathtub for each room and an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the beach. A big balcony facing the sunrise and sunset of the beach. It also has it’s own kitchen where you can cook any meals you desire, not that you really need it as it’s an all inclusive resort (can also be not all inclusive).
The first bedroom which is ideal when you have kids.
The Master bedroom.
The living area and the jacuzzi.
This was the view from our room.
After finishing planning our itinerary for the next couple of days, It was time to spend the whole afternoon at the beach drinking endless Margaritas and fresh coconut water while the Mexican music plays in the background, hearing the waves and the warmth of the sun against your skin is just what the doctor ordered! making me wish to stay here forever.
Not long after hours of frolicking on the beach the sunset that I have been waiting for finally arrived and boy it did not disappoint!
And just like that, I felt like I was home with sand beneath my toes, margarita in my hand, bikini and gorgeous sunset! I never wanna leave
After the sunset, we headed for some Japanese dinner and we ended our night with some bubbly and slept early for tomorrow we are doing the City Tour/Tequila Tour of Puerto Vallarta.
