Raw Vegan Diet

I have been meaning to blog about this new chapter as a new years resolution alternative for those who have been wanting to focus on their health and body this 2018, but since travelling in the islands of the Philippines it’s been hard when it comes to connecting to the internet and I have been trying to put this up in the last 7 days since Therese and I have been here. But hey! It’s never too late to start on your resolutions. I mentioned in my last post, that I have recently changed my diet to be a full-on vegetarian. I did a raw vegan cleanse with Raw Juice Guru as a jump start to this journey. Being a vegetarian is not a something new to me – I was a vegan for 5 years way back when I was modelling full time. I always loved how I felt when I was a vegan. But since then my love for cheese and chocolate have grown so I can’t give this up so I decided to go vegetarian instead. When I quit being a vegan I only ate chicken, beef and fish – I did a paleo diet because it was advised by my trainer at the gym at the time before veganism was a huge deal like today, I had a hard time eating everywhere so I always tend to opt out of carbs, hence stopping and looked for an alternative. I never ate pork ever since I was a kid, not because of religious belief but because I never really like the taste of meats specifically pork (additionally too because of the movie babe ).

I did this cleanse also because I felt so unhappy about how I’m treating my body lately since I started blogging I have been eating everything on sight, I also got invited to a lot of events and restaurant openings and it was very hard to say no to the amazing chefs and fancy meals. Hence I abused my body over and over again that it came to a point that my body is screaming for a change. I have also gained 35lbs. I have neglected my body so much that I stopped doing the things I used to do and eat – I loved working out, I would spend hours in the gym 5x a week and eat healthy vegan meals. So when I found out about Raw Juice Guru thru my friend Mikaela who was competing for The Bachelor Canada ( she eventually won), I knew this is the change and a start of something new that my body is asking from me.

I opted out for the 10 days raw vegan cleanse – these are composed of 3 raw vegan meals, sometimes comes with an extra snack or yummy raw sweet treats and 3-5 organic pressed juices a day which is delivered right into your doorsteps freshly made by them every day. Before doing the cleanse I had to prepare my body already by eating a plant-based diet 2-3 days before I started. During the cleanse you are not allowed to have any caffeine, alcohol, sugar, processed food and other meals/snack outside of the diet plan. I had to get rid of my teas that have caffeine and changed everything to herbal and caffeine-free teas (Davids tea has a variety of tasty herbal teas). You can snack on other veggies but this has to be raw as well. I had cucumber, peppers and carrots occasionally when I’m attending events.

Okay so during the first 4 days, I didn’t go out the house. It was hard – I tried going to an event on the 2nd day and I felt nauseous and irritated because I felt like everyone is being insensitive towards my diet, but actually the reality was I’m being so sensitive and I knew I shouldn’t go out if I wanna finish strong. The first 4 days was very crucial as you’ll have strong cravings for everything you’re used to eating, It was hard because I’m used to snacking whenever I feel like to, my friend who was also on the diet said she was strongly craving for her morning coffee, this wasn’t an issue with me because I don’t really drink coffee but RJG has the Chaga mushroom drink that taste amazingly like coffee and taste really good with coconut creamy milk. It also has amazing benefits that are even better than consuming coffee. Chaga is actually the only mushroom to contain low pH Betulinic Acid which directly targets cancer cells, which are primarily low pH structure. It’s also clinically proven to have anti-tumour and tumour reducing the benefit. I wish I could have this every day.

On the 5th day of the cleanse I have never felt so happy and strong, I have lost my belly inflammation and bloats. My face has magically lost weight and the puffiness was gone. My skin looks so fresh and soft. I also felt strong enough already go out of the house and attend my meetings and events. I learned to adapt quickly, I even asked one time during a food tasting menu event for slices of fresh vegetables for me and everyone happily joined me and my vegetable sticks to share for the whole crew. People were amazed how motivated I am that some of my friends have even thought of changing their diet too and getting on the cleanse.

On the last and 10th day, I was seriously sad that the diet was already over. I wanted to continue for a month but given my travel time and holiday coming in, I might not even be home if they deliver my meal. But, it was definitely a great start for me to start just eating vegetarian. I have been vegetarian since then – I would have fish or seafood sometimes when there’s really no choice, travelling around the Philippines is actually challenging to go find vegetarian meals- except in a few places which I will have to write on another blog post.

I would totally recommend this amazing cleanse for anyone who’s been wanting to change their lifestyle or just simply give their body a break and nourish it with all the nutrients from organic vegetables and fruits thru the amazing healthy recipes from Raw Juice Guru.

Below are the samples the meal I had during the 10 days, some were too good I forgot to take the photos of them. But if you’ve been following me for awhile you’ll know all of them were on my Instagram Story.

Here are some of the meals I consumed per day. They even have the yummiest avocado toast in the am. I usually start with the green concoction every morning before eating a solid food.

    This raw vegan diet sounds like a great way to lead a healthier lifestyle. I also am slowly trying to cut out more sugar, dairy and bad carbs from my diet and I think it’s working too. I wish there were more affordable choices so I could go vegan but it’s pretty hard in Japan :/ Anyways, enjoy your travels!

    You’re going to totally conquer your new diet! I recently became a pescatarian and I love it! I’ve been doing it for 7 months now and it’s my new lifestyle. I feel lighter and more satisfied with myself. Cheers to us!

    Love the recipes and ideas! It’s really good to do this cleanse once in a while, cutting meat and dairy especially is so good to get a better skin, hair and metabolism!

    Oh wow girl! I should try something like this for sure. It takes so much will power and I’m proud of you!
    Everything looks delicious! I know how hard it is to be good when you’re a blogger and go to al these fancy events with all the food and drinks!
    This year I’ve been good about going to the gym and definitely doing better with food. Little by little 🙂
    Maybe in a couple of months I’ll try something like this!

    I honestly enjoyed being on the Raw Food Cleanse so much! Not only was all the food so delicious, but it really is so convenient to have it all dropped off at your house made for you every morning! I’m so thankful for the experience and the fact that it helped me make longer term health changes, like eating vegetarian (just like you). Also happy it kind of brought us together!!
