Since Winter started this year I have been campaigning to do some winter activities mainly snowmobiling and dog sledging. I truly believe in a saying “if you really want something in life universe will find a way to achieve it”. And so, the universe brought Ford Canada to me. I was one of the few lucky bloggers around Canada to get invited and was sent to Quebec for #FordWinterAdventure. We had two days full of fun activities to do.
We’re flown from Toronto to Montreal. As soon as we arrived (I travelled with my blog bestie Filipa Jackson of www.playingwithapparel.com) we were greeted at Marriot Hotel by the airport with our Car to drive. The first car we tried was Flex to drive to La P’tite Cabane d’la Côte a beautiful sugar shack for lunch and some maple taffy which I have been wanting to try too!
Our first day consisted of sugar shack, snowmobiling, ice sculpting, private dinner in the wine cellar and lastly a bonfire for some smores and hot chocolate.
Everyone was gathered and our lunch was starting to be served already when we arrived. We got a little lost as our GPS was wrong. hahaha thankfully we found it after a few phone calls.
All of our food was homemade and yes maple gravy on my food! It was so good.
I beleive these was pig’s ears. They said t was good and crispy but I’m not really a big pork eater infact I actually don’t eat pork at all. Yes! No bacon for me
I think these was the best maple blueberry cake topped with some cream cheese and maple syrup. I actually should probably email them for the recipe and share them with you guys!
After getting to know other bloggers and media participating on the event. we headed out for some Maple Taffy before leaving for our hotel.
I was so excited!
What they do is heat lots of maple syrup and layer them on the snow to freeze and you’ll need a stick to roll it on.
and you’ll get these super chewy yummy sugar high.
Couldn’t be more Canadian than that!
Afterwards, we headed to our Hotel driving Ford escape the very same car we used HERE
Our hotel was Estērel Resort in Laurentians, Quebec.
We all have our own Rooms with fireplace facing the Scandinavian pools and the spectacular view of the frozen lake.
After leaving our luggage in the room we hurried downstairs to do snowmobiling.
Filipa and I hurried to get one of our own.
And Sydney too! another blogger babe from Toronto.
Sadly I wasn’t paired up with Filipa but I was partnered up with our guide instead.
We were the first one on the line, We were such a big group that the start of our ride was very slow as it is mostly everyone’s first time.
I was having too much fun even tho it was cold. The snow and panoramic views along the way were just too beautiful!
After 30 minutes of driving it was time head back and change drivers, I wasn’t allowed to drive as I’m partnered up with the guide. hahaha he did make sure tho that we gonna go for a fast and fun ride.
Truly a dream come true!
Now time for some Ice sculpting.
To be honest I have never done this! Another first! everything on this trip was my first time.
We were tasked to create a heart scuplture.
We had a proffesional showed us a trick of how to do ice scupting. He did it in less than 5 minutes and it was perfection.
Sydney here trying to get her sculpture queen inside her.
While Mr.Cavaliere of ( www.mrcavaliere.com ) looking so professional.
And Filipa is ready for her next big thing.
Hahahaha girl will be girls.
Alex getting so serious.
I think the best accurate sculpture made in the group! some are really talented and good at it.
And this was mine.
After Ice sculpting we headed back to our rooms to get changed and get ready for our special dinner in the wine cellar.
Wine first to warm the night, It was quite chilly inside the wine cellar so we were given blankets.
Everyone from Toronto gathered in our table.
With big smiles on our faces.
I feel so fortunate as well to bond with these girls. Filipa has been with me since we both started blogging together. Sydney whom I have been seeing around events, and she always says hi.
We started eating our food talking about how excited we are for tomorrow’s activity.
Now that were full and buzz from all the wine we were ushered outside (after changing to something more warmer) for some Bonfire and smores. I have never tried smores too.
I know, I know, I’m getting the all Canadian winter treat.
We have everything smores party you could ever ask for. Hot chocolate and endless chocolate and toppings for your smores are here. (craving for some right now as I type this)
And M&M’s too!
I patiently waited heating my marsmallow. you have to turned it around and make sure you dont burned off your fingers from the fire!
How’s that for a first timer? I can’t wait to go for more on next winter!
At 12 Midnight, like cinderella. I was back in my room. Had a long bath, hydration mask on my face. I can’t wait to show what we did the next day! We were taught defence driving on ICE! of course with our own NASCAR drivers coaching us, we also did some hot laps, off road driving and the most anticipated dog sledding.
