Dinner at Leña Restaurant

Dinner at Leña Restaurant

We all have bad days, and we all have good days. No one is always having the perfect life. Everyone is going thru something in life, we just don’t like showing it online and in public. Because once you do people will start talking about you. No one likes negative energy and weakness. So when feeling blue and all crappy the best way to defeat it is dress up nicely (Maybe chose the colour green to perk you up) Put on your best heels and your best make up, also don’t forget to grab your most trusted Girlfriend whom you know got your back. Go to the best(or prettiest) restaurant in town and eat your heart out! Don’t worry no one is judging… but yourself. so it’s time to let it go….

It was a really gloomy day in Toronto. This was in Spring but most likely feels like winter. I have been having this itch to travel and explore Asia. I was in the last draw of dealing with the anxiety of getting tired from the really cold weather. I will never get adjusted how cold it is 9 months out of 12 in Toronto. So I invited my new friend Therese who has a big heart and always there when you needed someone to talk to. We went to Leña Restaurant for some drinks and small plates.

A good cocktail is in order…

Felt like I needed some sparkly shoes to spark a great mood.

Warm bread and butter ( who doesn’t need that yummy chewy gluten?)

Quail eggs for someone who wants to be adventurous or stylish rather.

SUSANA’S GAUCHO EMPANADAS – beef, egg, olives, chiminasty sauce

SALT COD FRITTERS – caper & dill crema

CHARRED BEEF TARTARE – oyster mayonnaise, green olives, fennel bizcochos

To be honest we didn’t like this specific beef tartare, the beef didn’t taste as fresh as I was accustomed with. It most likely blend with my feelings tho.

After munching great food, I started to feel better. A good topic and great company help ease the anxiety I was feeling. The cocktail did help to uplift my feelings… But the truth was it’s good to talk out what you’re feeling inside. It’s good for the soul to say what you feel, never ever hide it or just let it go.

Now the best part of the night goes to CHURROS – soma mayan chocolate

Freshly fried and the warm chocolate that melts in your mouth. It was truly a delight (and most likely a very heavy cheat meal! – I did workout crazy the next day)

See what I mean? Sometimes good food does the trick.. just worry about the workout the next day! Enjoy life and little moments as life pass by before you know it ends. Never let the negativity wins.

It’s all about having a balance babe.
I love the fact that you dresses up and decided to have fun even though you weren’t at your best. I usually just stay home in my PJ’s and order pizza hahaha but this sounds like so much better!
I’m drooling over these dishes!!! Great photos! Gimme all the churros!!

Hello dear! I think you found the perfect solution to cheer you up. I know how gloomy weather can get one nervous and blue. I agree that you must not show your weakness, because sadly other can sense it and be nasty. While I’m sure each person who met you that day thought just how stunning you looked in that green dress and glitter pumps. And what about that restaurant? Everything looks so delicious and beautifully laid down! I hope you are feeling better and sending you tons of positive vibes! Love, Valeria

Yes ! I absolutely agree that dressing up helps a great deal when things are not going exactly your way! You choose the absolute best outfit and the shoes are the ultimate! I think you always choose the absolute best location and this beef tartar is to die for ! Here’s to beautiful days ahead !

We all feel that way sometimes and there are times when I actually open up and talk about it as I don’t want to see a bad day (or period) as a weakness in people. I mean we’re human after all and I think we should talk more about when we’re feeling down as eventually it leads to anxiety and depression, two subjects which are still taboo to talk about. Anyway, cheering oneself up is always a good idea and what better way to do that than looking your best and going to a fancy restaurant and indulging in delicious food (well apart from the beef tartare)! I’m glad you felt better afterwards and I’m going to take your advice. 🙂

Nothing like putting on a bright color and some lipstick to make you feel better ! I totally agree no one likes to show weakness but I also think we could all benefit from
Being more transparent and letting others “see us.” Good or bad xx

Your sparkled smile in the last picture is as sparkly as your gold shoes! Next time I am feeling down I am taking your advice and going somewhere fancy with a close girlfriend and just eating. Only one who can judge me is me xo
