A day trip to Tulum, Cenote Caracol and Akumal, Mexico

A day trip to Tulum, Cenote Caracol and Akumal, Mexico

I don’t even know where to begin.

One week in Riviera Maya wasn’t enough time to discover everything, mostly if you’re staying in an Amazing resort Azul Fives you wouldn’t want to leave because of their great food! haha and Also we went for a wedding, we didn’t have enough time to explore the cenotes at Cenote Yucatan. I have been dying to go to Cenote Azul. Which gives me a reason to go back soon! I really want to push my dreams to shoot photos like @doyoutravel , I know the equipments I need already, But I will need about $10,000 USD to complete everything! Meaning I wouldnt be buying designer shoes and bags for at least a year, well except maybe this Gucci Bag I already bought for my birthday. Ssssshhh my other half doesn’t know yet. lol

Anyhoo going back to this adventure.. Sorry i got side tracked.

This was the RUTA MAYA tour that we bought from Playa Del Carmen town proper. ALWAYS REMEMBER to not buy the package tours at your hotel as the prices becomes double even triple sometime. Go to the main town proper, find the best one and haggle your way! This is so much fun!

I was kind of disappointed at first because I really wanna go to Cenote Azul. I didn’t know I was in for a surprise in Cenote Caracol! it took me to the most adventurous thing I have ever done in awhile, We went inside a cave where the water was the purest. I did take videos but since I only used my Olympus TG-4, The shot wasn’t clear to compile a video for you!

Our first stop was the Tulum Ruins which was has been a dream of mine to visit since I was a little kid.

I think it’s best to go really early as hundreds of people visits everyday! Also so you can swim at the beautiful beach there and soak in all the history that happened in this place.

Our group has our own English Speaking tour guide telling us all about the history of Mayan Culture. I also suggest hiring a tour guide when visiting even you’re going on your own or with your family. Like this you don’t go blind in the place. It’s more fun too !

The photo he was showing us above is how the ruins look like during it prime years. So colorful and vibrant.

and their teeth! they have stones in them. I was so excited I watched this history documentary on youtube. And some other history about Mayan.

And these guys I think they followed me from our resort! lol

It was a really hot day and we stayed for about and hour or so in Tulum ruins, when you go out of the ruins you’ll see alot of souvenier shop and yes some fresh coconut water to quench your thirst.

After we head our way to Cenote Caracol.

Guess this guy has been waiting for us forever. oh my

We first toured the area and the wonderful nature around it. I didn’t know what to expect

Until our tour guide ask us to wear our bikini and shower, We weren’t allowed to have any chemicals on our body, like mosquito repellant or spf’s.

this was the path we had to take to go down to the main cenote! and I was in for a treat!

For this I used the Olympus TG-4 as I cant bring my camera and it might get wet. It was very dark down there. he told us to jump into the water to break the ice. haha

Thats our guide. he thought me many mexican bad words. lol Our tour of the underground cenote took about almost an hour.

as you can see I’m no longer wearing my floatie but instead we made it as a diaper so we can float on the water. It was very challenging at first to stay still as knowing me I move alot. Many times they have to keep me still so I won’t turn over. haha It was hilarious. I truly gonna miss this so much. Which i already do! Alot.

Our last stop was Akumal. I have never seen sea turtles! haha so it was scary as they said they bite! But actually they don’t unless you bug them or attack them of course!

Out of my Mexico trip this was actually the first time I dove in the sea. Days went by so fast and I totally forgot to do more adventurous stuff! My goal Next time is to stay in many different hotels and have a concrete plan doing adventures. AND I NEED TO WAKE UP EARLY. lol

Just like that I felt like home. How I terribly miss Philippines! Not Manila but the beautiful beaches in the Philippines. I am forever going to be a mermaid trap in a concrete jungle. I wanna live by the beach for a year! doing loads of adventure everyday.

This guy was so huge! It was pretty amazing to see them in action.

This was another one and different size and colour.

I wanna touch them! On the next one I’ll make it a mission!

We only stayed for less than an hour! This was sad because i don’t wanna leave yet. This is the only disadvantage of going on a tour. You have to follow their schedule. uhhhg I think I said many next time on this post already. lol

We went back in our hotel famished, I think we totally forgot to eat as we were just excited about the adventure. So we decided to check out the Italian Restaurant in our Hotel.

We were seated right by the window over looking the infinity pool. We were the first ones in the restaurant.

And we pretty much ordered everything on the menu! lol

and 2 bottles of wine. . . .

Im kidding! we barely even finished one. We just changed the first bottle because we didnt like the taste.

Warm bread served with some roasted garlic and tomatoes and olive oil.

Beet Salad with Goat Cheese “Beet” Carpaccio

Another kind of salad.

We also ordered the pumpkin rissoto

Seafood pasta

Grilled Snapper with barley rissotto

Beef steak

My favorite wild mushroom risotto.  YUM!

And we ordered 2 desserts

I dont know how we managed to finish all of that. But we did! Ha!

We walked to the beach to admire the sunset and well to digest everything we just slayed in the restaurant! Thats the beauty of All inclusive gourmet tho. No need to worry about your bill! Just dont forget to leave a generous amount of tip.

Im such a happy kid. We stayed a little bit longer by the beach, dreaming of never ever leaving this paradise.
