A day in Muskoka

A day in Muskoka

A few weeks ago we took a day trip to the gorgeous town of Muskoka, Ontario. If you have read on Vogue, Cindy Crawford comes here with her family (CHECK HERE).

Muskoka is beautiful and a cottage go-to place in the Summer.

So we decided to check it out during winter and it does not disappoint, it was so beautiful. When we arrived a snow storm has just finished. The road and the whole town is covered with fresh coat fo snow. I love fresh snow! It’s so beautiful and relaxing to look at. You just need to make sure you’re fully equipt with warm clothing to enjoy the snow and it’s spectacular view.

We arrived after almost 2 hours of driving in JW Muskoka.

We decided to stop over at Marriot to have some hot cocoa and the spa is perfect for this kind of weather.

The pool is all warmed up perfect to stay in while watching the snow flake goes down.

We hiked down to go down the lake which is all covered by the snow.

The snow is very deep. I think we were the only one enjoying this moment as all the tracks we made were very fresh.

We stayed here for couple of minutes together with the hot cocoa we put in our S’wells bottles.

It’s beautiful that we lived in a country that has four seasons. You get so excited when a new season is coming and you appreciate each one of it. This is my true first Canadian Winter. I planned on enjoying it as much as I could so I won’t hate the snow lol.

After an hour outside we went inside to get ready for our booked massages and head down to the pool. We decided not to bring the camera with us as it was too bulky and keeps fogging up. I was scared it might get too cold while we’re swimming. I also put my phone away to truly enjoy our time together. I try to do this on Sundays as much as I could, social media is my work so I try to get away from it when I can to take a break and any other technology for at least 5-8 hours on weekends.

After almost 3 hours of Spa and pool, we decided to hit the road back to Toronto. I also used The ford escape that Ford lent us for the weekend. I am seriously considering getting a Ford escape for myself. It’s very easy to drive and the grip on the icy road is good! not intimidating to drive at all. Mostly for someone like me who just started driving.

On our way back we decided to stopped by Barrie, Ontario for some early dinner.

We stopped by The Farmhouse. I have been here before with some girlfriends and I love their food.

As you wait for your food they’ll serve you with homemade potato chips.

I ordered crispy salmon and fries.

The chap ordered an all carbs meal! Hamburger with baked potato and the famous Mac & Cheese. you need to order Mac & Cheese when you come to visit them.

After our early dinner we headed back home around 6pm and it’s been an amazing Sunday well spent with the lad.

That snow is so beautiful! I wish we would have had at least one good snow this winter, but I’m in South Carolina, so it’ll never happen ha! Now I’m ready for the spring to make its way here! It sounds like you had such a relaxing time. I love hearing that other people have phone free time too! It’s so important to get away from everything and just enjoy life. Xxx
