5 days in Maldives

5 days in Maldives

The Maldives is Beautiful, no doubt about it! But when Therese and I came for a visit we didn’t really do much research about the country. We were in Asia and thought it would be much easier to travel to the Maldives since we’re already there. You can take a flight from Malaysia through Air Asia and the price is very reasonable. We literally booked everything a day before going so I don’t advise this as it can be very expensive. We originally planned in Booking the Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi but someone beat us to it so we end up booking Centara Ras Fushi – an Adults only Resort & Spa ( not advisable if you’re travelling with a friend cos everyone is coupled up and 5 days are long! I swear they thought we were lovers at some point lol ) . We choose this resort because it was near Male where the airport is located and the hotel provided a free transfer and its only about 20 minutes boat ride away. Each resort in the Maldives is located on its own island so every time you need to go to a new resort you’ll have to pay $600 USD + for Transfer per person for either a seaplane or a boat. You’ll also have to pay for this from the airport to get to your booked resort. It’s best to find a resort that offers this for free.

Since we’re in the Maldives we booked the Water bungalow Villa facing the Ocean. This was both our first time experiencing this. It was truly beautiful. We were blessed during our whole stay for sunny days. It was the perfect ending to our crazy one month Asia Trip. We spent most of our days reading a book, going for snorkelling, enjoying the clear blue water and enjoying some peace and quiet at the spa. The massages are really relaxing as well.

The food and drinks are really good as well. We tried the Thai Night Buffet which was really good and we also tried the Italian restaurant. For breakfast every selection is good and we both load up with passion fruit. I truly enjoy the coffee latte and smoothies.

Therese and I also had a day of no phone and just truly reconnect with nature and with ourselves. A must-do when you’re away which we often forget because we get so consumed on social media and taking photos all the time (or so for me lol)

As for water excursion to do, they offer day trips to see dolphins and diving to see the big whales. We skipped this one as we pretty much did all these already when we were in other parts of Asia. However, they do have an amazing snorkelling area where you can see turtles, baby sharks and even Nemo! they also provide snorkelling gear, kayak and paddleboard free of charge.

I can’t wait to be back in the Maldives but definitely ging back with a date next time!
