Last week was definitely one of the busiest weeks ever, Also one of the toughest, as I encountered someone body shaming me last Monday during fashion week (Will get here in a few). All in all, last week was one of the successful weeks regardless of negativity someone has thrown at me. I also did a few restaurant menu tasting. The first one was Ufficio‘s Brunch Menu last Sunday. I attended the Toronto Women’s Fashion week and was able to experience the backstage getting ready with Redken. I also did update my closet with a few of basic clothing from H&M, Forever 21 and Zara for the month of Fall. The weather is finally dropping in Toronto and surprisingly I haven’t gotten any fall clothes yet. (Yes I’m still a tropical girl no matter what). Around Wednesday I was invited to attend the Barbados Tourism at the Woodbine Racetrack where I got to experience watching a horse race for the first time. I also went to the new Hotel called Bisha for a launching of Estherderm newest Skincare line. Around Thursday I was invited to Miku for their 2nd Year Anniversary Tasting menu.
Going back to body shaming, I was taken aback from this person. I shared my experience over the Instagram story and I was surprised by how much people responded to this. During fashion week, someone whom I know from my past life as Size 2 Model told me I have gained weight and I’m fat. I am size 8 so I don’t think there’s any problem with that. I let this person took over my emotions and confidence. The next day I realized I shouldn’t let anyone bring me down for the woman I am. I am successful and happy. I shouldn’t let anyone body shame me or anyone, skinny or fat, no one should label us. We weren’t born SKINNY nor FAT, we’re just simply us. Our success or life shouldn’t be measured by our weight. It’s awful that body shaming still exists and a lot of young women suffer from this. I hope this stops soon and no one should feel bad about their appearance.
SUNDAY: I had the most amazing media brunch preview at Ufficio, if you’re curious my favourites are “Polpo Benny” and “Insalata D ‘Ivana” . It’s also a great place if you’re pescatarian.
MONDAY/TUESDAY: I was able to experience the backstage of fashion week, I also experience the good and the bad side of the fashion industry (please refer to my status from the entry)
Pictured here together with The collaboration with Redken New York backstage making me feel like a queen. I also got to meet amazing women
WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY: i had the most amazing time shopping for fall and the most amazing experience at Miju restaurant trying out their 2nd year Anniversary Menu. I loved all the same pairing they gave us too! I also learned to never warm your sake! The colder the better!
I also tried Planta’s plant based burger take for the fast food American staple. I’m currently doing my search for the best vegan burgers in Toronto and I can’t wait to share it with you.
The menu from Miku 2nd year anniversary
You need to try the sushi 1st on the top of the photo and the 1st on the left. Aburi sushi is so good, you sit. Even need a soy sauce for it like the typical sushi we’re so used to.
FRIDAY/SATURDAY: I do suffer from PMDD and during these days I took the day off as I was sick and needed bed rest but that didn’t stop me to conquer Sunday for a #paidcrew take over which will be coming to the next life update.
I hope everyone’s having a great night. I’m currently typing this blog post while waiting for Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull to come out in their concert that American Express Cobalt team gifted me for my birthday
See you later xxxx
