Last week Nivea Canada took me and some of my favourite bloggers to an Overnight Spa Getaway in Blue Mountain to experience their Smooth Replenishing body care line. We were picked up in our private limousine with all the ladies, which was gorgeous and has it’s on Nivea logo and #yoursmoothescapestartshere. Since the cold weather has started my body has been screaming for some relaxation from being overly tired from the busy Summer schedule. We’ve been so fortunate actually to experience warm weather all throughout September which is rare in Toronto.
The Limousine took us to our hotel in Westin Trillium House, from there we were handed out our schedule for the trip which was full of relaxation activities. Upon checking in to our room, I was given a bag full of Nivea products, our own robe and slippers to be worn for our little trip to the Scandinave Spa later that evening. My first appointment at the spa was a pedicure. They ushered me into a room where you get to lay down in a warm-heated bed while they’re doing your pedicure & foot scrub using Nivea products identical to the ones we have in our rooms. To be honest, that was my first time experiencing it and I must say I wanna do it again! After my pedicure, I went straight to my 1-hour body massage where they lathered my whole body with Nivea smooth lotion. I was actually surprised how smooth it glides on my body as I am used to using massage oil as I find lotions get dry easily. From this point, I have successfully managed to turn off my phone to be at the moment. I find myself lately always stressing to get the perfect shot hence forgetting to totally succumb to the real experience. The message was really good that I slept during the process. After the spa, I went back to the hotel to join a few of my peers for some Rośe, truffle fries (more of this truffle fries later on..) for some laughter and amazing stories. From there we were supposed to have our dinner privately in our rooms to enjoy some alone time, but the stories were too good to stop from there.
The four of us decided to have dinner in Alyssa’s room ( @randomactofpastel ) which has the best view. We also had more wine but this time we opt for Pinot Grigio. I have recently changed my diet to pescatarian and I had mushroom soup, crispy fish on top of a yummy mashed potato. As for dessert, I had chosen a raspberry sorbet which was very light to end a very hearty dinner. After Dinner around 7:30 pm, we gathered around the lobby wearing only our swimsuit under our White Robe and white flipflops. We were a group of 15 women, which was a really fun group upon boarding our bus to go to Scandinave. Upon arrival, we were informed that any photo taking or cell phone are not allowed when using the baths and utmost silence is required (from this point I didn’t get to take any more photos) but it was so rewarding to have some time alone with your own thoughts. Upon going back to our room I ordered room service of my favourite sparkling water and more truffle fries to end the night. I know it’s probably bad carbs at night but it was totally worth it. I slept like a baby.
The next morning, I quickly sneak into the hot tub to enjoy the morning sunrise by the pool area. After that Filipa ( @filipajackson ) and I explored the little mini village of Blue mountain for some fall foliage action. We also had an orientation hosted by Nivea about self-care which taught us some very important lessons in life, which I need to practice more – SELF LOVE and SELF CARE.
This is the last schedule on our trip. The limousine took us back to the city feeling relaxed and smoother than before.
