I love road trips and exploring new places all the time. From a french restaurant in Yorkville, to the French Capital of Canada, Province of Quebec. after 6 hours of driving we’ve reached our destination, Old Montreal . We were famished, so we decided to look for a place to eat first. It was exactly 12’o’clock in the afternoon.
There were so many Bridal cars around the area of Old Montreal. I think they were like 6 weddings that day.
Along the way we were serenaded with some street performer who plays beautiful accordion music.
her music sounded like this
We finally decided to go stop at Les 3 Brasseurs along Rue St.Paul .
We sat quietly and focused on the menu. after just 2 minutes we we’re ready to order. ( was really hungry. haha)
The Lad ordered a local beer served on a Pint and some mussels with bread drown in white wine, tomato sauce.
I settled for salad nicoise. We planned to order more but changed our minds are we still have along way to eat our way in Montreal. So we headed out the retaurant and look for some dessert.
Chocolate Mint Ice-cream.
and we bumped into some bridesmaid. ( again ) well it was a beautiful day to get married.
We walked around some more to explore the square and some street arts.
( I know I was a sneaky ! But it was beautiful not to share on my blog! )
And then we did the horse-drawn-carriage tour because of the romantic atmosphere that the weddings made us feel.
and we sat like two giddy high-schooler on a first date. ( I highly recommend to plan this ahead of time and bring Champagne and Champagne glasses and some strawberries to make it more romantic and make the time of the ride during sun set. I’m definitely sure your partner will be in tears. )
For a moment I felt like home ( I miss Europe so much and just for a moment this feels like home and content for what I have at the moment )
After the ride we have to feed Nikki ( our horse for the day, such a beautiful name )
Ok I’m going to admit I have a fear for horses. But because of an experience when I was 18, shooting with a horse in the Philippines with no saddle on and by the beach, the horse got upset ( I think something from the water) and it started kicking its legs and kicking me out of its back and I got injured. So after that fall I have never dare to touch a horse nor ride one EXCEPT OF COURSE FOR ROMANCE.
We made our way to the Event that was happening that day YUL EATS. For some reason food always follow us.
We Made our first stop in MAILLE for some free Macaroons ( who would say no to that ?)
And head over the bar for some Mustard-pineapple Vodka. The bartender gave me the concoction for it ( tho this only ideal during summer bbq so maybe next year when the season is right )
After few hours of walking we found ourselves somewhere in Downtown Montreal admiring some of the houses and their Architecture.
( Maybe I should start learning french )
We made one last stop for some Calamari and Rośe before heading back to our hotel to freshen up.
After freshening up for dinner, we walked around downtown to find a place to eat. Because we’re still kind of full from the whole day eating our way around Montreal , we opted for Poutine and Sangria.
After this we had few more drinks somewhere local where I was in lost in translation, The music was in french and everyone around me speak french. It was a beautiful feeling tho, to be somewhere you just want to be different. Being Different is always good.
before I know it I was back at the hotel sleeping like a kid from a whole day of battlefield.
