Yup The photo on the left was me. I weight 185lbs smoking heavely, eating junk food and drinking alcohol alot. The Photos on the Right is me 135lbs, happy and smoke free eating Good Real Food. I drink occasionally wine and tequila but not to the extreme that I can’t function the next day.
Yes accept the fact that you are bigger than you used to and need to lose weight. I’m not being harsh here but being realistic. Has your wardrobe been tight on you ? That favorite pants of yours? Does it still fit? Are you happy on how you look? Have you been feeling down because of constant reminder to yourself that you’re not confident of how you look? Then it’s time to accept the truth. Truth hurts but hey there’s always good that comes out of it.
Ok now that we know the problem. Let’s write down what we need to do. First take your measurements write it down on your weight loss notebook or even on your Evernote app. Take your weight on the scale and your body measurement using a tape measure. We just want to know where you’re standing right now on this journey. ( don’t worry about the scale in the future , because we will focus more on what’s the tape measure gonna tell us ) . Also take a before photo of you wearing a swimsuit. Take a picture 360 style. All angles no inhaling in, let it hang.( use this photo as a comparison every two weeks )
3. GO TO THE GYM
yes Hun there’s is no other way that we can lose all the fat that we wanted to , if we won’t be going to the gym. I treat my extra fat in my body as a disease ( well because it is, according to research that Jamie Oliver TED TALK That obesity is the number cause of death all over the world more than cancer) so I have to bring it to the hospital ( which is the gym ) to get treated.
If you’re new to gym there are ways to enjoy this, first sign up with classes that focus on cardio and muscle toning classes. Ex Zumba , bootcamp . Also with this way if you’re the type of can’t go to the gym alone like me who don’t get motivated by just being there, you can meet people / girls who’s going on the same phase as you do in this classes. You can both find a friend /motivator to each other.
4. YOU NEED TO DO CARDIO
YES! Cardio is your best friend if you want to lose weight. I don’t like running , you can ask anyone who knows me how I hate running. If it doesn’t work for u don’t push it, you will just get bored and end up giving up cardio. Find a cardio that suits you, there’s many. Elepthical or stair climbing might be ideal for you. DO ATLEAST 1-2 hours cardio a day if you can. If you’re a beginner start by walking for 30-45mnts a day 4x a week until ur body get used to it.

Don’t give me excuses that I can’t afford a gym. But if you really can’t there’s great alternatives that you can find online. The power of YouTube. Google home exercises and you’ll be surprise how many classes online is available.
5. DO WEIGHTS
yes Hun doing weights helps you lose weight faster when u pair it up with cardio. It helps to tone your body and skin. Because if you only do cardio chances are your skin will be saggy and dull. You don’t want that do you? So do it the right way.
6.INVEST ON SPOTIFY OR GOOD SOURCE OF MUSIC
YES music helped me a lot to get motivated. Download music you think makes you excited, happy and most of all feel good while working out. Blast it loud helps you don’t care about the people in the gym. It will. Makes you feel like a pro.
7. PROPER EATING
sorry I don’t believe in diet having been trying everything and pounds just come back off after I stop dieting and alas with some more back. BUT I believe in proper eating habits. Yes we need to rehabilitate our eating habits, having been programmed to eat whatever we can and store fat in our body. Yes we are made like that. But instead of putting bad food, we need to change that to good food. Yes im talking about your green intake. I highly recommend avoiding junk food ( yes throw away those Doritos that you’ve been snacking on, those protein bars , soda , anything junk. You don’t need to be smart to know the difference of real food and fake food, we were thought since elementary) those process food, yes hotdogs, cereal, ready made food, canned soups, canned vegetables, cup noddles( very high source of cancer) milk( don’t even make me start how badly cows are being treated just to be milked then they put a lot of chemicals to pasteurize it) Well basically everything you see packaged on the grocery and has the longest period before it gets expired. ALSO READ THE LABELS ANYTHING WITH FRUCTOSE ON IT THATS BAD FOR YOU! Fast food yes McDonald’s kfc, taco bells, Popeyes, subway. Well everything that serves ur food fast. DONT LET THIS DOSCOURAGE YOU. We are just taking out food that harms you and your health. You want to be better right? Your body is your temple treat it with respect if you want it to take care of you holistically.
8. EAT THE RIGHT FOOD FOR YOUR BODY
Now that we take out everything that is bad for you focus on eating only NATURAL and REAL FOOD. your plate should also look like this when you want to eat proper .:
9.KNOW YOUR LIMITS
don’t over do it! Know your strength and body limits. Don’t go to the gym everyday and exhaust your body. Remember that you’re going to the gym to be happy and release stress from work or anything that’s stressing you out. Have ATLEAST a day off where you’re body can recover .
Stretch stretch your body so muscle can relax and to prevent muscle strain.
12.STOP PARTYING AND DRINKING YOUR MISERY AWAY
Sorry to break it to you, but late night dinners/partying at the club drinking like there’s no tomorrow , smoking like a chimney will not do good for yourself, both mentally and physically. Alcohol makes u bloat . Results will make you crave bad foods and gives you hangover the next day which prevents you from doing anything. It also affect your mood. Trust me when I say this alcohol leads to bad decision. Smoking in the other hand can kill you, give you bad skin will make you look more older than u already are. Prevent u from doing cardio or any fun stuff outdoor. If your friends are really are your true friends and not just party friends they will help you in this transition in life. Instead of hanging out the clubs, you guys can go to the gym together, go on heathy lunches dinner and do other activities. Road trips are fun too minus drinking and driving. Are you getting what I’m trying to make you understand. ?
Also not only it makes you fat and miserable. It also cloud your judgement to do what’s right and wrong and makes you look really terribly stupid. If you do drink do it moderately where you can still decide for yourself and won’t make yourself foul.
Ok let’s move on
13. HAVE A POSITIVE OUTLOOK IN LIFE
Always stay positive and happy. if you are feeling down just look in the mirror when you wake up and tell yourself you are beautiful and you will reach your goals and it’s going to be a great day. ( I practice this mantra whenever I’m feeling down and insecure )
14. STAY FOCUS AND MOTIVATED
Just because you haven’t see changes after going religiously in the gym in a week, doesn’t mean it’s not working, it will take time before you see a change. Losing weight doesn’t happen over night. It takes a lot of patience and time .
15. THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS
There’s no over night weight loss. It takes patience and discipline and constant wants to change. I have tried everything that you can imagine just to lose weight. I have tried magic pills, I even tried liposuction and it didn’t work out well. I didn’t lose the fat it was still there worst I wasn’t able to work out for a month or so and I had scar from the surgery. I lost weight because I ate properly and went to gym constantly.
