It’s been awhile since I listened to a good music and no I’m not talking about Apple Music nor Spotify. I’m talking about a good Orchestra that makes everything else sound so heavenly. The last show I have seen was back when I was in London.
I was invited by a good friend of mine Krizia to tag along with her. The Show was consists of two parts, Each one hour long and drinks during the 10 minutes break ( The tipsier you are the better the music flows in your head – Do not quote me on this one! lol).
Also Remember, When going to a performance, the music IS the entire focus, giving you the ability to completely immerse yourself.
Also, watching the players perform, and hearing the true acoustics of the instruments, just draws me into the music so much more. And that’s MAGIC…..
Naturally, I couldn’t find any colour fitting the occasion and the weather but to wear all Black and silver shoes just enough to have a sparkly.
I was surprised to see a lot of people come to watch the performance. And no not just Old people as others would think, even younger generation is present. Everyone in their best behaviour to not make any sound to distract the performers.
French composer Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem—in a chamber orchestra setting of this text—highlights this program of inspiring and uplifting music. Acclaimed Canadian baritone Russell Braun sings Brahms’s deeply-moving Four Serious Songs, in a beautiful version with original preludes and orchestration by Detlev Glanert, and Montreal composer Samy Moussa’s celebratory work opens the concert.
After the first half, we changed our seat as the one sitting above me keeps complaining that I’m disturbing them with my phone as I keep sneaking in videos for my Instagram stories. Tho I don’t know why. I wasn’t screaming or talking on this snaps so I don’t know why I’m disturbing them. I was just documenting it. haha, It almost came to a point that I would hold my breath so I won’t make any sound. Honestly, he was making me utterly uncomfortable, Hence the big move is a must and I landed to the best seat in the Hall.
As soon as we found our new spot the Choir started singing and it was like heaven on Earth, It was so beautiful.
CLICK PLAY TO HEAR IT:
I couldn’t believe the two hours was already done. I wanted to hear more.
The show was ofcourse, a standing ovation.
After 2 hours of music appreciation and silence. It was time to hunt for some food and drinks and talk about the music (not)….
We found a Mexican joint across the Royal Thompson Hall equipt with guacamole and chips with a side of Margaritas and Sangria.
Krizia is still in the Uni so basically we spent the rest of the night talking about School and gossip with a slice of boys. Lol, She’s on her last year and off to London to attend her Master’s Degree in King College. I know…. that is some serious goals.
We ended the night with a promise to watch more Orchestra together.
